“Ghost Canyon” captures the fleeting moment when falling sand meets a shaft of sunlight and a ghostlike figure seems to emerge between sculpted sandstone walls. Luminous white-blue light drifts through the narrow chamber, surrounded by flowing layers of copper, crimson and violet. A bright pool of light touches the sandy floor, completing a mysterious scene in which sand, shadow and sunlight briefly take on an almost human form.

Deep blue water winds among weathered sandstone towers, broad mesas and secluded coves beneath a sky washed with turquoise, soft pink and blue-gray clouds. Pale rock along the shore traces the contours of the lake, while richly textured cliffs frame the foreground. Distant plateaus and a pale mountain on the horizon complete a spacious desert panorama of calm water and rugged stone.

A dark, reflective river curves in a sweeping horseshoe around a massive sandstone formation, its copper-colored cliffs rising above a narrow ribbon of green shoreline. Sheer canyon walls enclose the bend, revealing layers, cracks and weathered ledges in warm desert tones. A glowing orange sky and distant plateau crown the scene, emphasizing the river’s graceful curve and the monumental scale of the surrounding rock.
